Destruction and Elimination: Mars Opposite Pluto

From May 22nd till June 19th — This rough oppositional aspect between two feminine signs that represent the archetypal mother and father, the one who provides emotional nourishment and the one that provides structure and security, will rock people’s world — to be honest. Things are going to get rough internally and, inevitably, externally. Pluto represents the destructive Shiva aspect of God, elimination of the lower self in order to awaken to higher consciousness. Mars, on the other hand, holds rulership over land, brothers, weapons of war, blood, energy and action.

This opposition aspect is like a seesaw; it lends itself to power struggles and destructive outbursts, depending on our level of awareness or consciousness. It’s an extremist aspect: black or white, but never gray. Positively, it can also mean more energy to unravel the occult or transform one’s emotional states into bliss.

Mars isn’t feeling too hot. Literally. He’s in a very personal and sensitive water sign. Acting with integrity on what we really want might not be the most pressing thing at the moment. There’s a lot of misdirected anger and aggression on people, places and things, especially those who aren’t deserving of it. More people are lashing out at the fact that they can’t pay bills (Cancer & Capricorn are about meeting our need for inner and external security) and that they feel unheard or stepped on by political representatives who swore to serve the public, but end up only serving themselves. The current circumstances are a direct result economic inequity and destructive economic policies that began during the Reagan Administration in the 1980s…. Most people, especially in America, are pretty damn angry. And why wouldn’t they be?

Pluto is symbolic of the hidden power structures that control the international banks and various institutions that are far from our immediate vicinity. The corporate oligarchy (Wall Street, Davos, Silicon Valley) that rules over the masses continues to be indifferent to the suffering of the average person. We have no rights in this country. The corporations can simply do whatever they want: damage communities, destroy the natural habitats of animals (we’re currently in the 6th Mass Extinction) and on and on. The media says not a word. They are corporate entities too, driven by the pursuit of profit, and therefore power.

This foul karma is playing out on the collective level and on the inter-personal level. We are burning karmas. Because of the “Law of Attraction,” as the masses get angrier and begin to feel more powerless, they will attract more and more abuse. By this very same law, ironically enough, the rich will get even richer, as money attracts more money. Inequality will culminate fully by 2025, triggering a collapse.

Don’t Get Sucked Into the Collective Mind Stream

The collective is undergoing a purification for an awakening. This change is a painful but necessary one. Our mental state tends to create our world and our experience. It’s important to not get sucked into the story of negativity. Yes, the reality is a negative one. I admit that inflation, automation and corporatism is not pretty. But there is a way out. There are ways to attract the right people and conditions into one’s life.

With a stellium of planets in Gemini, it’s a good time to think about and research ways in which to make our personal lives better and new ways to connect and experience the good of life. Whatever the mind (manas) dwells upon, eventually becomes manifest within the world of forms. Mercury is about the little things. Focus on little things that are positive and abundant. Actively ignore the suffering of the collective.

Even after June 10th, when Mars moves into Leo and gains some stable strength, Pluto will still oppose it. There will be a great passion for finding emotional strength to bear life’s pressure. That will morph into the need to strengthen our individuality, our core creative self and express our personal sovereignty.
