One of the ways I’ve found predictive astrology to work is by not predicting specific events in the future, but outlining general patterns that will arise in life. Then taking a look at the overall picture and seeing how you got there. For instance, every 2 years or so transiting Saturn will move through a different house, blocking the immediate fruits of that part of our life and allowing for restructuring to take place. Face your lessons in life early, before Saturn transits your house.
Currently, everyone on Earth has Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn transiting through some area of their chart. Some part of life where they gain security and structure is being destroyed and rebuilt brick by brick in order to make it stronger. For me, Saturn Pluto transit Ascendant, my life path, personality and physical body is being destroyed and rebuilt. I’ve been going to the gym and working out, eating healthy food, developing a daily discipline and working in very difficult jobs to serve those less fortunate than myself, normally in underworld (Pluto) environments: psych ward, hospice, ICU hospitals, etc. Everyone is going through something related to the current Saturn transit. No one is able to save money or invest for the future, without being extremely conservative and investing in very secretive hidden things that may not see a return until many years later. Soon transiting Saturn will move from Capricorn to Aquarius, meaning our relationships to society, groups, higher ideals and technology will drastically change. If people can plan ahead of these transits, they can make the most of them.
Embracing Saturn’s Energy
I’m not too keen of astrological remedies or solutions. But in this case, one should worship or give praise to the celestial energies of Saturn on Saturday during the planetary hour of Saturn. It can be a brief prayer or mantra meditation. Even when I thought these little rituals didn’t work, their results would always surface. Prayer and “magick” always work, even if we don’t believe. Focus your mind on accepting the darkness and “evil” of life. Be at peace with the fact that suffering and hardship (horror) exists in the world. These are all aspects of God. Doing this on Saturday will help elevate your karma in relation to Saturn. But more than that, Saturn likes seeing people who provide service to others less fortunate than themselves. He blesses those who feed and clothe the throngs of destitute peoples in society. But when we don’t, Saturn can be a real demon in a person’s life. It has the reputation it does for a reason.
A Necessary Evil
Saturn is the big bugaboo in astrology. No one wants to deal with him. It’s not that Saturn is inherently bad — No. It is, after all, the planet of greatness. The most powerful planet in our solar system (energetically speaking). Without Saturn nothin in our reality would be “real,” “solid,” or “tangible.” The planet gets a bad reputation because we humans, largely speaking, struggle with immaturity, responsibility and don’t like having to face the negative results of our actions. Everybody hates the jailor and the disciplinarian; but without them, God only knows what would happen to the world.
Mapping out your Saturn Transit
There are some simple steps to take when mapping out your life and planning out your life goals for the future. This requires a great deal of emotional courage, the bravery to face the fact that negative things to happen in life and some suffering will come for you eventually. We cannot avoid it. It’s better to embrace it. We can deal with it in a way that dilutes it, or even nullifies it completely, if we’re lucky. Saturn and Pluto are planets that like to clean house and expose things that are hard to look at, but need to get done. If we can clean house NOW, before the Saturn transit arrives, we can reap Saturn’s rewards, not face his punishment. Saturn is, after all, an aspect of our inner-most being.
My Saturn Transit Story: In Brief
Just as a brief aside, after doing some soul-searching on what it is I wanted out of my brief stint of life on Earth, I decided to map out my Saturn transits to better understand what lessons need to be learned and what was coming for me in the future. Knowing why my current situation was caused by a Saturn transit and linking it up with my previous actions, or lack thereof, put everything into perspective and gave me the meaning to push through my current life’s situation. So much of our “karma” involves the freedom to choose. We don’t have to react violently to a situation and land ourselves in jail. We don’t have to say something hurtful to someone and ruin a relationship. There is so much choice in the karmic events that transpire in life, it’s almost ludicrous. Our lives are the result of our prior decisions and choices. Saturn just comes to collect the toll. Most people don’t live correctly, and as a result, Saturn’s transit is a dreadful one. But… If you can get ahead of Saturn, normally by developing some discipline, maturity, patience, endurance and a service-oriented attitude with life, you can be blessed, not cursed, by this powerful gas giant. After looking at my Saturn transit, I knew that the numerous adversities in my life had manifested for a reason. They came in order to strengthen me and to recreate me into a greater person. By knowing this, I could get my mind out of negativity and focus on the work I was doing, not the results I wanted, but didn’t see myself receiving. I ignored the thoughts that said:
“Why am I working so hard for so little? Why is it that despite everything I’ve sacrificed, I am still behind my peers? Why am I not successful, despite the fact that I work harder than they do?” etc.. etc.. — (PLEASE IGNORE THESE THOUGHTS!)
A Step By Step Guide
- Look at where Saturn is transiting in your horoscope now.
- Progress the transits to see what years it will transit to other houses!
- What aspects does it make to other transiting planets?
- What aspects, good or ill, does it make to your inner planets?
- Reflect on how your current situation with Saturn is a result of decisions made in your past.
- Review how your future scenarios (whatever house Saturn travels in) will be a result of what you’re doing NOW.
- Finally, What can you change or start doing to ensure that your life ends up on the right track?
- Draw up a Game plan of what to do? Perhaps, save more than you spend…(Saturn 2nd house) or perhaps make and maintain as many social connections as possible? (Saturn 7th house) etc.
Create a Better Saturn Transit
By working on your own Saturn, the one you were born with, you can receive better transits altogether. Saturn shows us that there are certain things we must sacrifice in order to become great. Make it a goal to sacrifice little things for Saturn. Walk to the grocery store and save your gas, in order to give that gas money to someone who desperately needs it, or donate it to a noble cause (use discretion and make sure it isn’t a scam charity, please). Start breaking your illusions of life. Look at the world as it is, not how you want it to be. The more you come to terms with the reality of this world and the truth of it, the happier you’ll be. This world is not here to “make us happy” or “give us fulfillment.” Many people think this, but are ultimately mistaken. The world is here for us to move towards greater awareness of self and for the consciousness of God to expand itself through creation.
Meditate on what your Saturn means and why you were born with it. What can you do to strengthen it? If you had an “exalted” Saturn in Libra, what house would it be in when applied to your horoscope? Look up the qualities of Saturn in that particular house. How can you start changing your behavior to match these qualities. For me, Saturn would be in the 10th house Libra, if it were exalted. One should take on a disciplined, mature, service-oriented approach to the career and always show humility, since Sun would be in its fall there. Apply this approach to your chart. Start now and work hard on investing for the future. Everything in our lives is an investment, time, energy, through, emotion or money.
