May 29th brings us another first quarter lunar cycle, this time in Virgo. It’s all about emotionally purifying ourselves and getting the new grounded and in-order. The new moon in Gemini is about ideas, but doesn’t necessarily “ground” them into physical reality through action. It jumps around a lot and thinks about all manner of subjects, but can’t seem to commit to a certain way of being or doing.
The first quarter moon is reflective and contemplative in nature. It’s a crossroads for our new moon journey. This time, it’s when we feel emotionally insecure of critical of the information that we’ve acquired or the skills that we’ve started to develop. Especially since it is in a feminine earth sign, introspection is key here.
Emotionally, we’re trying to figure out what experiences we should keep and what we should let go of. We start questioning what brought us to this point our life and then, of course, what actually happens next. This is a good time to make connections with others. Our heart is trying to find the hidden meaning behind the experience (Pluto aspect Moon square Sun).
Mercury is conjunct the north node and is the only planet near the moon, situated on the other side of the nodal axis points. All the planets are being separated on the Gemini and Sagittarius sign axis, which aligns with the galactic center.
“WAIT! I’ve Gotta Fact Check This…”
Our lives are now separated between the higher and lower mind, our knowledge and our ability to attain new information, the process of accumulating facts and the restful assurance of faith or trust in a greater picture. We aren’t too interested in the latter nor big picture ideals. Especially now that we know we’ve been lied to. But we are too obsessed with understanding everything on the intellectual level. This is a great time to dig through misconceptions and bring truths to light. It’s a time to get crafty, that’s for sure. We may find ourselves doing little things in our day, over and over again. Nothing really seems to stick.
Here’s Why!
There are hardly any fixed signs transiting right now. Everything is either mutable or cardinal. We are either pushing towards something, or picking up the things that were left off to play around with and perfect. There’s also no fire! The feeling of having that fuel or inspiration that pushes us towards something…is quite…”meh.” There isn’t a whole lot of vivacious optimism and joy in the air right now (as you might have noticed…). The time to act on inspirations and visions is over. That will come up during the full moon. Right now, we are here to tap into the mental sphere and analyze where exactly we need to plug up our boat to keep it from sinking into the ocean.
Keep things light and open-ended. Right now is an opportunity to bring ourselves into great unity and fulfillment in daily life. Remember that this moon is waxing its way towards a full moon in Sagittarius. It is growing and expanding energy, exploring the more earthy dimension of Mercury. One can imagine this like having the first lord in the 4th house. It’s where our journey to experience truth and bring more adventure into our lives hits a point of reflection and purification. We have to emotionally discern if the path we’re walking on is the right one and make specific decisions on where we put our intensions.
