When I say that astrology is merely the human imagination, it may seem at first as if I am making a callous dismissal of this field, as the majority of people mislabel as a nonsensical pseudoscience. I’m not implying this in the slightest, however. The human imagination is magnificent. Everything in our world was once a product of imagining. Before the airplane, the phone, chair or other human beings came into being, all of these things existed within the mind.
Neville Goddard sounded insane most of the time. Yet, I finally see what he meant by what he said: “There is no fiction.” Everything in our experience is being evoked from the deepest levels of the human imagination. The imagination of the Homo-Sapien has an intense creative power over the tangible external world, but this is excluding all other mammal species, which is likely because of the fact that humans have an advanced biological software (the brain) not seen in other species.
Astrology truly works, but only because the fundamental claim is true regardless of belief: celestial bodies have an effect on human consciousness. This acts in a domino effect because our consciousness is affecting our physical experience, events, people and circumstances alike. The universe has numerous energies that remain a mystery to us despite the advances of modern science. No matter how arrogant the scientific community is, they have no ability to see outside of the traditional boundaries of programmed thought. Astrology is not so much about “signs” as it is about the archetypes that exist within the collective human consciousness.
It has a lot to do with nature and the changing of the seasons. Why is it that people who live close to the equator (hot climate) are more hot-blooded and lively? Why are those who live in the north prone towards having cold and reserved temperaments? For instance, take your birthday, include the month and the season. You may find it to be quite general, yet there is no doubt a connection between what season we are born in and our fixed personality/temperament.
A person born in the spring will likely have a strong predilection towards impulsive action on inspiration and being a self-centered type-A personality. There are limitless exceptions, of course.
A person born in the winter will have a more reserved, controlled, disciplined, collective-oriented and ambitious temperament.
A person born in the summer may have a more playful, creative, curious, spontaneous, detail-oriented and emotionally nourishing temperament.
A person born in the fall may have a more relaxed, laid-back and introspective temperament, focused on higher or deeper ideals and perspectives and be especially relationship-oriented as a personality.
So on and so forth…
I find that this is a test that commonly works. If you’re born during these dates: April 21st – May 21st, ask yourself this question: Do you have an identity or concept of self that is wrapped up in material security, enjoying the latest physical pleasures (clothes, wine, sex and food)? This is because the identity may feel that it can complete itself by obtaining more possessions or b having more money in the bank account.
Your rebuttal is: “Yeah, sure. It’s so general. I mean, isn’t everyone like that?”
To which I say, “No, they’re clearly not.”
A birthday between May 21st – June 21st will, for example, make a person’s identity revolve around gathering and sharing information with other people. It makes a person very interested in finding a self-concept through games and information. This isn’t a “big-picture” person. They’re often identified with the immediate environment and are curious about their place in it.
A birthday between September 23 – October 23 will make a person’s identity far too reliant on what other people think of them. They will determine their self-concept from the types of relationships they are in and may put the needs of others ahead of their own just to keep the peace and balance. The person born here is born in the middle of the fall. It’s not yet winter, but it’s definitely not summer. They are on the fence, taking the middle ground to avoid necessary conflict and see “both sides” of the situation.
A birthday between October 23 – Dec. 23 will make a person go deep into cutting through bullshit. It’s closer to winter now. Depending on where you live and in what era, if you didn’t prepare, you’re really in for it now.
Fascinating, right?
If you try this out, you’ll notice there is a pattern here with what the person’s identity is centered around and what month they were born in. Perhaps this will aid in softening your well-justified militaristic skepticism of astrological claims.
But, anyway, our imagination is interwoven with our biological software and the natural environment around us (the changing seasons and geographical makeup etc.). The physical reality that we experience, the mental images that we create and mystery of consciousness are connected.
