On October 30th, Mars gains immense strength in the fixed water sign of Scorpio. Mars gives collective emotional strength to destroy demons (internal negative thinking states) and brave new territory within ourselves and in close-knit relationships.
Mars’s Significations: dry, hot, bitter, problem-solving, logical, active, assertive, forceful, ambitious, energetic, courage, confidence, strength, sex, desire, land, separation, cutting, burning male friends, soldiers, warriors and engineers.
Mars in Aries is about fighting external battles. Mars in Scorpio fights internal battles: spiritual battles. These can sometimes involve psychic attacks between people or a battle with one’s inner-negative dialogue.
Mars feels good in Scorpio, as he is gathering experience and energy before entering into his exaltation (Capricorn).
What Scorpio Indicates
There is deep emotion felt when planets transit through Scorpio. The sign is often associated with base animal instincts, since the symbol is the scarab or scorpion which digs holes (hiding or researching) and tries not to get stepped on (paranoid or defensive of getting hurt).
This zodiac sign represents the loss of the jubilant qualities seen in Sagittarius, since Scorpio is contending with the dark night of the soul, internal spiritual battles, and hasn’t the time for grandiose philosophical pursuits.
Eventually, after emerging victorious from the battle, consciousness proceeds to move to the next stage of experience in the Jupiter-ruled masculine fire sign of the Centaur.
Mars stays in Scorpio until December 13th, when it enters Sagittarius. Until then, Mars undergoes plenty of aspects from friend and foe alike.

Mars Inconjunct North Node
Right off the bat, this is a strong time for manifesting and visualizing the end goal. The north node is in the 8th sign (transformation of desire) from Mars. Meanwhile Mars is in the 6th sign from the node (the work we undertake do to manifest desire).
Mars Square Saturn
Nov. 2nd – 19th
Two fixed malefic planets in powerful signs creates a war between them. Careful not get fixed on doing the same things over and over, expecting change to just work out.
This is a time to clean house and face whatever has been swept up under the rug for some time. Saturn is about responsibility and self-discipline. Don’t let fear cloud your emotional space and color your actions. Feel emotions but do so while grounding yourself in the present.
Squares are active points of contact, sort of like a cardinal sign or quarterly lunation phase. They get stuff done. But…Feeling “stuck” in some area in life is a huge symptom of fixed squares or feeling trapped by a negative place or condition, despite actually having the power to escape from it or change it.
Mars Conjunct Sun
Ends by Nov. 1st
By the time mars leaves the rays of the sun, the emotional nature of the planet will have been revitalized and strengthened. The Sun’s temporary conjunction dignifies the energy of Scorpio and creates health rather than poison.
Mars Opposed Uranus
Nov. 6th – 26th
Rebellion and breaking away from conventions and norms surrounding how we link-up with other people. This a period of thrill-seeking activities and discovering new opportunities.
Mars Sextile Venus
Nov. 7th – Dec. 8th
The Sextile gives opportunities for enjoying romance-related endeavors. Fixed water working in harmony with movable earth creates a positive internal condition where we can satisfy our strong urges or desires to have a realistic and pragmatic relationship with pleasure (Venus Capricorn).
Mars Opposed Full Moon
Nov 17th
Mars will oppose a powerful full moon conjunct Uranus in exaltation. This is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to manifesting our desires for comfort and affluence in the material realm.
Mars Square Jupiter
Nov 27th – Dec 16th
Mars aspects his friend and gives energy and zeal to our ability to follow through on goals and finish things up. Granted, the square means we can overdo it, over exaggerate and take on too much in what we’re set on doing.
Mars Conjunct Mercury
Oct. 31st – Nov. 18th
Mercury applies a conjunction to mars and makes us more curious about occult or sexual themes will be explored.

Mars’s on One Side of the Nodal Axis: Lone Wolf
It’s not quite a Kaarl Sapra Yoga. But the energetic see-saw has swung far too much towards the other end of the zodiacal belt. The planets on the side of the south node (re-engaging old karmic duties and letting go of built up attachment) outweigh the north node’s side (initiating and activating through new experience).
Mars is all alone on Rahu’s side, right before Ketu, thus amplifying the martial or warrior temperament in the collective. The need to dig deep and push past barriers and boundaries will become apparent. We might feel like going it alone for a bit.
Mars Conjuncts The South Node Ketu – A Warrior in The Void
December 12th is a time to really watch out. Mars, ruling violence and warfare, gets immersed with the south node (a body without a head) and is in between a water and a fire sign — right on the cusp — creating steam or smoke (confusion with regards to our actions).
Use your best instincts and think before acting. Don’t suddenly act on your big ideals or what you believe is the truth (Jupiter Square Mars).
Mercury in detriment doesn’t help, as it can have ignore the fact-based fine print in life and just act on what we feel in the moment.
Mars Trine Neptune
Nov. 19 – Dec. 8th
This aspect lasts a while. It’s a deeply creative time for music, poetry or art. It’s also a passionate, creative and spiritual aspect that pushes us to act out on our projections, fantasies and ideals about a better world, for ourselves or other people.
Lasting until December, the transit will be prime time for advancing one’s spiritual practices and using the body, energy (emotion) and willpower to move towards a divine, sublime engagement with spirit.
Considerations…
Mars in Scorpio does tend to hold onto emotions rather than express them willingly, even more so because Saturn is in the 4th sign from it.
This transit is very fruitful to whatever house it enters in your particular birth chart, as it will be energizing, motivating and improving that area of life.
