July 28th, 2021 — Jupiter retrograding from Pisces back into Aquarius is helping us to ruminate upon our spiritual path and what beliefs we may have about ourselves, others and the world at large. Our beliefs, or what we put our faith in, are what guide us towards our future. Jupiter can also correspond to the lessons we may have to learn, or themes we must focus on in order to grow in wisdom or discernment, since Jupiter is the Guru, the teacher and preacher of the zodiac. The optical illusion of this gas giant moving backwards will last quite a long time — all the way up until October 17th (Pacific Daylight Time Zone) — that’s a good long while!
What Jupiter Retrograding in Aquarius Actually Means…
It’s time to rethink our trust and faith in large organizational structures, specifically those in the sectors of technology and science. We will reconsider how to progress into the future through technology and science. By late September and early October, when Libra planets come into trine with Jupiter, there will be a massive amount of rebalancing and weighing out how much faith, trust or belief we should place in our leaders. Rather than blind faith in “the science,” there will be a healthier skepticism and the desire to see both sides of an issue in balance.
When Jupiter retrogrades, people can often think life situations will just work themselves out without taking action to change them. You have to act with practical certainty and double-check who and what you’re putting your trust in. Just like Mercury retrograde can have us mixing up the details during communication and sending an incorrect email or two, Jupiter will have us mixing up who or what is a reliable source of wisdom and who is unreliable. We may have utmost faith in something that hasn’t been pressure tested by Saturnian reality. That is a key consideration.
So…New Lockdowns? Vaccine Passports? Uh Oh.
Jupiter is certainly the planet of positivity, goodwill and joy, but when it is retrograding back into the sign of Saturn (Aquarius), which is about restriction and limitation, we may have to put forth more effort to find meaning and lose our spiritual evolution by falling back into negative patterns of thought. Sure, many good things come from Jupiter (money, children, knowledge); but in 2021, this transit will give us a downturn in economic productivity and increased social isolation. We are learning how to be with ourselves and connect with our inner-guidance system. This lesson takes manifestation in the form of more lockdowns from authority figures (Saturn and Pluto).
The reason we will have new lockdowns is because the number of positive Covid-19 cases are increasing rapidly, namely in places like Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and California. Some experts say the uptick in cases is occurring in all 50 states. This is obviously due to a great number of factors, including the new Delta strand variant, but one such factor (among many) is the refusal to get vaccinate — a sentiment that is far more common among younger, healthier people; these are people who typically do not see any need to social distance, wear masks or, at the very least, get vaccinated. Aquarius is the rebel. However, of all the hills to die on and give the middle-finger to the Fed, I personally wouldn’t choose this to be the one.
Advice? Don’t take any long distance trips during the starting phase of the retrograde. You might find yourself stuck (fixed sign) in a place you don’t wish to be. This is where I see the new lockdowns gradually coming in. People will, once more, be forced into isolation.
The Spiritual Key to Jupiter in Aquarius is Discipline
Saturn is also all about discipline. So, by embracing more discipline within ourselves, we will find more Jupiter-like expansion and freedom from within. The contradictory and paradoxical nature of this lesson is analogous to a Chinese finger trap. You do not pull away to escape, but pull the fingers closer together. An internal shift must occur before external conditions change. The complacency of the masses creates fertile ground for totalitarian control by power-hungry psychopaths (government types). We are seeing glimpses of it now. In order to burn off our foul collective karma, that is precisely what is on the menu: fascism, in the text-book definition sense of the word. Mandatory vaccine passports and the surveillance of peoples’ private lives will come soon (eg: a police state).
Finding Meaning in Collectives & Social Groups
Jupiter is all about finding true meaning in life, as opposed to just understanding and analyzing informative facts with one’s mind (Mercury). Jupiter sees the bigger-picture of life. When Jupiter is strong, one can better see how all of the seemingly discordant events in one’s life fit together to form a larger story; this certainly includes events filled with suffering or limitation, alongside joyful events. With Jupiter entering into the same space as Saturn, once again, we find more opportunities to see how the struggles and restrictions brought on by massive institutions far outside of our control are actually leading to our highest good (hard to imagine, I know).
It is a good time to expand friendships and connections. Re-engage with old groups or collectives that you were once a part of but may have fallen out of touch with. Retrogrades involve reviewing or repeating themes around a particular planet and sign. In this case, it’s going to deal with large cultural movements, social network groups and how we grow in our lives. Aquarius is a final phase of activity before the liberation and renunciation of Pisces.
This is an opportunity to expand one’s current network circle and work with others to better humanity in some way. Volunteer when and where you can. Get involved in groups that aid the homeless or the underprivileged masses, of which Saturn rules over. This will bring more luck. Aquarius is all about larger social-cultural movements, bearing positive emotions and carrying the collective weight upon one’s self in order to make everyone’s life less burdensome in some way. This relates to the classical Greek Promethean myth, bringing fire down to mankind.
Jupiter brings more luck and abundance to those who focus on bettering the collective over themselves. It is in the exact opposite sign from Leo, the king. So, be the divine servant.

ARIES SIGN/ASCENDANT
Jupiter in your 11th house of networks is all about you getting into the swing of socializing and connecting with groups that share common beliefs and goals. You might reconsider a new income stream or connect with friends that were formed in childhood or during early development. You’ll gain a lot of hidden insight and guidance from your network circle or friends. Be careful of which organizations you invest money into.
TAURUS SIGN/ASCENDANT
Jupiter in your 10th house can mean good news for your career. But there’s a catch.
