Baba Ramdev’s Astrology Chart

Trevor Scott

This is the chart of a Yogi if I ever saw one. Everything just adds up and here’s how…

Venus is very strong in the 7th house, showing that the general public loves him and projects on him positive Aquarian (humanitarian) attributes. This also happens to be the 3rd house lord (his skills, interests and activities) and the 10th house lord (his career or legacy). Venus here can give a lot of romantic interest in the opposite sex, as it is in natural strength. However, given the rest of the chart, and the fact that Sun in Capricorn and Saturn in Pisces hem his Aquarius planets into the 7th house, his principles and commitments do not allow him to indulge in Venus, women and material hedonism.

The Ascendant in Leo shows the life path will be ruled by the Sun and the qualities of consistency, confidence, power, service and duty. Numerous planets in Aquarius in an angle shows that this person’s karma is to serve the masses or work with large group of people as a teacher. This is also seen through Jupiter in the 11th house retrograde in Gemini, which is detrimental for Jupiter.

Because a person with a weaker Jupiter doesn’t feel the natural abundance and joy or meaning, they get involved in things like yoga or spiritual occult practices to help this. This is precisely the case for many astrologers who have debilitated Jupiter in their horoscope. They are interested in astrology or spirituality as a means of overcoming a natural deficiency in this incarnation. The 11th house Jupiter will mature through engaging over and over again with large organizations and groups dedicated to social change. With retrograde planets, one must take a particular action repeatedly until the karma is paid off.

He has a powerful Argala in his chart. The planets that form it are in the 11th (Jupiter), 2nd (Uranus/Pluto), 5th (Sun/Mercury) and 4th house (Neptune). The only obstructions might involve the 10th house North Node that gives an overwhelming desire to be successful and have a powerful career involving the sharing of information. This desire to “be someone” in the world can take us away from the joyful fruits of inner-contentment, family (4th house) and personal creative expression of the unique self (5th house).

Jupiter is the planet with the highest degree and it is retrograde. This shows a soul who holds strong principles and is engaged in spiritual pursuits throughout the duration of one’s life. This planet is his soul and the 10th from this planet is Saturn in Pisces. This, yet again, shows us he incarnated to be a spiritual teacher that aids others in transformation of wounds or hurts (Chiron). The second highest degree is the indication of his career, Mercury in Sagittarius. This shows his career will involve teaching spiritual information in a creative way through the integration of discipline and routine (Saturn’s aspect).

Naturally, this person’s career (Saturn) will involve spirituality (Pisces) and dealing with wounded people (Chiron). Although, without proper self-discipline, his social circle and hobbies can interfere with this path. Mercury is square to Saturn. The mother had a nervous energy which impacted his personality and the way he forms relationships. Mercury is conjoined with the south node. This person was sharing spiritual knowledge and was a student of spirituality in the past life. They focused too much on acquiring information and knowledge rather than wisdom and experience (gnosis) of Jupiter. The nodal placement for this person means he must balance the lower mind, intellect, with the higher mind, wisdom or belief.

Mars Moon Venus Conjunction 7th/6th house

Mars controlling the conjunction shows this person is incredibly eccentric and willful when moving into relationships. He naturally wants to connect with others and needs groups or friends to achieve a sense of emotional stability. Uranus and Pluto are square to his natal Moon and Mars, adding to his unpredictable and eccentric personality. When Mars is hit by these planets the energy becomes elevated and the person should do well to stay clear of intoxicants, as these will open the gateway for spiritual possession or death. This particular energy circuit requires a large amount of physical activity, otherwise the nerves will become shot by a powerful prana current. Mars is also the lord of the 9th, his beliefs and culture, and the lord of the 4th, his homeland and emotional contentment.

Transits for January 1st, 2021

Rahu transiting over Jupiter, shows he is coming into sudden and unexpected gains — enormous gains, in fact, through the use of media and communication networks. This is especially true because the lord of the 5th (speculative gains, romance and creativity) and the 8th (sudden changes and joint assets) is Jupiter. There will be gains through foreign lands as well. New expanded desires may arise at this time.

He will soon experience a nodal return where the shadow points of the moon conjoin in their original signs (Sagittarius and Gemini) from his birth chart. This is where his soul’s path and evolution comes into question and the overarching destiny is reassessed. It’s a minor soul review, where spirit ensures we have been making good on our promises made before incarnating into a human body. North node in the 10th gives a massive international fame, an overnight sensation and success. In this case, when the node crosses through, he must reengage the themes of having a need for external validation and involvement in the busyness of the world with balancing his internal spiritual reclamation or dedication to his family or home.

Saturn & Jupiter Conjunct Moon: Meeting Emotional Demands

Saturn is moving over his natal Moon. Vedic Astrology refers to this as Sade Sati, a “dark period” in one’s life. In reality, this isn’t always the case. This transit doesn’t “ruin one’s life.” It merely serves to strengthen and give structure to the emotional nature and temper the mind by uprooting any latent demons (desires and subconscious needs) that lay dormant. Saturn merely comes to collect on a karmic debt, if any. Saturn’s transit through Aquarius is also strong and beneficial as this is his home sign. Mr. Ramdev, this year is without a doubt a time of added pressure and mental hardship in the realms of relationships and public service duties. It is a time when the inner-self is tested so as to become more emotionally mature. It feels (Moon is the emotional self) like nothing is growing or moving the right way when these transits occur. However, because Jupiter is also transiting over the Moon, the opposite effect occurs. Ramdev feels more inspired and protected. The positive emotions expand through his service work and day to day activities. He can feel very lucky, yet Saturn puts boundaries around how intense this feeling is.

His natal chart shows he may have had issues with his feet in his early life, as Saturn in Pisces can give problems with how we walk or stand on this earth. But Neptune transits this planet, giving him one more test to see how much dedication and commitment was put into spiritual work and activity. He must find security and a foundation in the spiritual, not the physical. Venus and Ketu are transiting in the 10th place from Saturn, yet another confirmation to shows how one’s spiritual merit and work as a teacher/guru is to be tested through the opposite sex from a foreign culture or land.

Uranus transiting the 10th house Retrograde: A Revolutionary Breakthrough in One’s Career

This can often denote to a sudden change in one’s reputation and duties in the world. Because Uranus is square to his natal Venus and Moon, these changes won’t feel to good and won’t go over effortlessly with the general public that witnesses it.

The Progressed Chart on December 31, 2020

Key Takeaways:

  • Three planet conjunction in the 8th house along with Chiron
  • Moon progressed conjunct Natal Moon
  • Sun in critical degree to ingress to Pisces – changing one’s entire life (again)
  • North Node & South Node Returns to Natal Position

February 21st 2018, Ramdev’s progressed Venus came out of retrograde status and became stationary direct, this signified a major change in his personal relationships, values and debt holdings.

Jupiter had been retrograde from the time of birth and went direct on August 26, 2017. This was a time of great progress and growth for his material gains or spiritual aspirations (11th house). This meant making giant leaps in progress, especially financially.

The three planet conjunction in Pisces in the 8th house of transformative change and looking over his natal Saturn shows massive structural transformation to his career and life of service. These progressed planets are in a square to his natal Mercury, showing that decisions must be made between how to best manage affairs of this world and the spiritual world.

When progressed Sun changes signs, a new world is entered into. This happens maybe twice in a person’s life, as the degree moves once every single year. If a person lived to be 90 years old, they will have successfully witnessed the effects of having their natal sun sign move three times. He is on the precipice of entering into a time of more spiritual service. His entire world will revolve around the things that are not of this world. The previous life change that was of this magnitude happened in 1991 when the progressed Sun moved into Aquarius, his awareness of humanitarian service, social change, political activism and mass organizations became enhanced. And it has been this way up until this moment in time. By next year, however, his involvement in these things will dissipate. The urge for the soul to move towards divine unification with the sublime will expand. This year is akin to a liminal period, a year right before a transition to the new realm of being.

By 2021, Baba Ramdev will enter into a great spiritual evolution. He has been known for his activism and involvement with worldly affairs. As the Sun moves from the rebellious and humanitarian sign of Aquarius into Pisces, a sign of liberation and foreign lands, all of his yogic preparation will now bear fruit in a new manner of being in the world.

He will retreat more from social interactions and focus on tempering the spirit. This even shows a great shift towards a foreign land. Pisces, being a water sign, indicates his soul will yearn for more unification and meaning with something beyond this realm. This progression shows a monumental point in time for his soul planet Jupiter, as the progressed Sun sign will be in the 10th house from this planet. Massive change.
