A Scorpio’s Karma: Meet Your Needs by Mastering Muladhara Chakra

Trevor Scott

Someone with Scorpio planets or Aries planets in negative dignity, or a Saturn with a poor placement, for that matter, will struggle with muladhara chakra. They will feel deeply insecure and unable to cope with life’s natural ups and downs. The Scorpio planets create instability (opposite from Taurus, the most stable zodiac sign) within the muladahra.

Make sure that your foundation is stable. Do you have friends, family, money, shelter, bodily health and stability in your life? Are you engaged in destructive habits of escapism: drugs, media, entertainment etc.? If you have trouble with any of these things, then muladhara chakra must be healed. Once your basic needs have been met, then you can focus on developing the higher chakras. In fact, it’s a lot easier to develop the higher spiritual faculties in a constructive manner once a strong foundation has been built. Building a beautiful house and investing thousands of dollars into it can be disastrous once you find out the foundation is unstable.

A strong muladhara will ensure that you are no longer addicted to anything or anyone. You become like a mountain, a rock that can endure. You are never sick and rarely ever stressed. You have no fear of doing hard uncomfortable work. You do it with a sense of dispassion and objectivity. In other words, you can meet your responsibilities and avoid escapist tendencies. All thoughts of suicide and self-destruction cease. You actually begin to enjoy and appreciate the struggles in life. I know, that sounds insane. But you find that the challenges that were once so crippling to you, are now adding life to you. You love the challenge and feel like you can take on the world, without breaking a sweat. You are comfortable not knowing and being ignorant. There is a purity in ignorance. Sexual perversion will stop. Sure, you still have a sex drive; but it’s no longer as compulsive or uncontrollable. It actually becomes a pleasure to control it, rather than engage in it constantly, be it mentally or physically (both drain energy). It is totally in your conscious control, because the light of awareness has entered into the dark, still energy of muladhara. It is also said that an awakened muladhara expands the human lifespan to over 100 years. You will be a pillar of steadfast security for both yourself and the world. As you change, others must change when in your presence. Enormous physical strength and endurance comes from this chakra. A person will have boundless energy to finish a multitude of projects. Others will start to marvel at the fact that you never seem to get stressed, despite life being full of anxiety-provoking duties and responsibilities.

On a Personal Note (I’ve got a lot of Scorpio in my chart…)

I used to be incredibly anxious and developed hypertension and high blood pressure due to my imbalanced muladhara, but on a physical level, it was my growing student loan debt that drove me insane. Once my base energy center was established and made healthy, mainly by developing a relationship to mother earth and to nature, my anxiety disappeared. I felt at complete peace and everyone around me started acting differently. They calmed down and felt more relaxed and at ease in my presence. I was able to make sound decisions and no longer suffered from a lack mentality: overeating, impulsively spending cash and anxiously pinching pennies. The earth supports and provides for us, regardless of what the economy is like. Don’t buy into fear. If you’re having nightmares about your finances or feel afraid and uncertain of the future, you are not living in reality, but in a psychological drama that is the direct result of improper grounding. A negatively placed Saturn or Scorpio planets can give this deep sense of fear and anxiety. If you master muladhara, the planetary karma shifts. It won’t happen overnight. Things take time in this world. But the more you do it, the more natural it feels and the more your world shifts to accommodate this new version of yourself.

Best Advice to Scorpios

If I see a client with plenty of Scorpio planets, I advise them to start purifying the muladhara by developing a more holistic lifestyle: getting out into nature, doing hatha yoga, meditating on the pure luminous steady energy light of the root chakra. All of these things will assist in elevating the Scorpio energy. It is the most important thing to do in a Scorpio’s life. Work on the muladhara chakra. Bring awareness to the unconscious part of your being, and then ascend out of the darker realms of consciousness: the underworld. The Scorpio personality is emblematic to that of the character Dante, a man who travels with his guide, Virgil (the knowledgeable guru), through the torments of hell, purgatory and, finally, arrives in heaven. There is a reason why Mars in Capricorn as the dispositor will elevate Scorpio planets more than a Cancer dispositor. Mars gains stability, courage and noble strength of will in Capricorn ( a Saturn-ruled sign), but is far more prone towards bouts of sensitivity, weakness and comfort-driven lethargy in Cancer, thereby squandering the power of Scorpio. To awaken the energies of Scorpio requires strength and will. It’s not easy and certainly not about feeling good (nourished, comforted and warm – all Cancerian qualities). Do what needs to be done, then do what you like. You’ll have to have courage and consistency to go into the dark unconscious parts of yourself (muladhara), heal ancestral karma, confront fear and address your deepest needs.

Scorpio Energy is a Blessing, Not a Curse!

In fact, Scorpio planets have greater potential than any other zodiac sign. Most who incarnate as Scorpios do not reach this potential, sadly. They are born bearing the most difficult karmic sign of the zodiac, but they’re also the most blessed and fortunate. Other signs do not hold the transformative power seen in Scorpio, but they also don’t have to burden its inherent difficulties. We live in a universe of relativity. If the sign were easy to live with, there wouldn’t be much benefit in awakening its energies to a higher level of being (above mundane 3D consciousness). If you were born with an easy chart, there wouldn’t be much to gain by elevating its energies. If you’re born with a stressed chart, the potential for greatness is there.

Scorpio is related to the natural 8th house of the zodiac, a house of transformation and the kundalini shakti, situated in the dormant muladhara. Most Scorpios are deeply unconscious and spiritually un-evolved., this is most of humanity, though. That’s not to say that all scorpios are like this, certainly not. Some spiritual masters, or bodhisattvas, choose to reincarnate as Scorpios in order to meet the challenge and thereby elevate the whole of humanity by engaging in the archetypal hero’s journey. The individual life struggle is not unique to that person, but it is the condition of humanity. If one being overcomes their karma and embodies the qualities of love, purity and openness, all of humanity has done it. But as far as those souls who aren’t masters are concerned, the younger souls who are in need of a tremendous amount of spiritual development are born into Scorpio as a means of hastening their growth. Life for a Scorpio is not easy – that can be said for life on earth in general, of course, but Scorpios have it particularly rough. But the lesson of the Scorpio is to go into the darkness of the unconscious (muladhara) and shed light unto it, processing and integrating the darker parts of themselves. If they fail to do so, they will continue to manifest external conflicts and negativity that mirror what they have ignored in their own psyche.

Some area of life will involve going deep into the unconscious, experiencing despair, powerlessness and fear in order to transform it into divine love and wisdom. Scorpio gains security through obtaining knowledge, which is a delusion of the ego-mind. True security doesn’t come from accumulation of facts, nor will it come from the Taurus perspective of a fat bank account. Security comes from within and is developed by a powerful energetic alignment with the security of the present moment. Once the heart and genital area (anahata and muladhara) have been purified, the Scorpio will operate upon a higher level of consciousness, awakening the number 11, the master number of spiritual power and conscious creation of the 3d world.

The house where Scorpio falls in a birth chart will show the area of life where the individual must confront latent fears, all-consuming despair, power struggles, delusions and psychological projection. Observing where Pluto sits, as well as Mars, the dual dispositors of Scorpio, will detail the ways in which one may confront the unconscious fear and how they might transform it.

  1. I am almost crying reading this… I am a scorpio asc. I would love to contact you. Though I am going through a stress-less zero-bank balance phase, I know I will soon be amongst the people who have BIG bank balance. All you wrote in the post, I had been and I am. Being 25y11M old, I am on a character transformation spree since 2013. In fact, I would love to write to you about me. It feels good to talk to someone who shares the same intellect. Should I? This scorpio post is good. Keep writing!!
