South Node in Sagittarius: Get Rid of Your False Hopes & Have a Plan!

Trevor Scott

We are in the process of accumulating truth and “real” information (Gemini North Node) and letting go of out-dated philosophies, beliefs and teachings (South Node Sagittarius). These mutable signs where the nodes occupy their stay are splitting our zodiac into two spheres, the higher mind of inspiration (letting go) and the lower mind of analysis (developing).

The manner in which we move toward the north node is dependent on where Mercury is. It is retrograding now in Cancer (2nd house from Gemini) and will move quickly through the zodiac while the north node transits through the sign of the twins. Our relationship to how we approach truth will change very rapidly. Our approach to how we deal with the south node’s energies, however, will stay unchanged for quite some time (practical earth quality, then stable air).

Humanity must write a new story and let go of the old narratives. We are, after all, entering the 6th mass extinction period (prepare to be depressed). Life on Earth will be unlivable in the very near future. Think about how quickly time has passed just this year! What’s 30 years from now? Not long.

The way in which the south node is approached (the place where we fall back and feel comfortable but also release any hold over) depends on where Jupiter is.

Uh oh!

Jupiter is not just retrograding in its debilitation in Capricorn right now…it is getting ROCKED by Pluto and being depressed by Saturn. Pluto is about getting to the heart of the matter, beyond the ego and beyond the conceptualized self. Saturn is about taking responsibility and getting realistic about one’s hopes and dreams. Happy go-lucky Jupiter isn’t feeling too hot right now. He has to obey the tenants of Saturn: work hard, have a plan and take responsibility.

This is not the time for false hope that an authority of structure in society (Saturn) will take care of you. Jupiter in its fall makes people think that things will just “work themselves out” when, in reality, we have to make it work. Be Saturnian.

“There’s No HOPE!!!” — Actually, there IS!

The hope and optimism is found by embracing your fears and not running from the school of hard knocks. We can bring more hope and optimism into our lives when we take the time and develop the patience to take realistic steps towards a better future, a more secure future.

Saturn is running the show right now, not Jupiter. We might be tempted to get lost in our old stories right now, especially those taught to us by the rigid paternal authorities in life. The beliefs and concepts we cling onto might be EXTREME to say the least (Pluto rules polar extremes). Finance, education, foreign relations, long-distance travel and religion will be destroyed and replaced with something more operable. Pluto pushes evolution through elimination. This is an asset to the south node’s energies right now.

The south node makes everything in life feel delayed and blocked-off. Whereas the north node pushes us forward, giving that obsessive rush of destiny: “More, more!”

With Neptune hitting these nodal points, there is an element of not knowing where we started, let alone where we’re actually going! We let the media and the illusions it casts on our mind take us away from destiny, keeping us in a low vibrational state of fear, panic and anger. But even so, Neptune can also give us greater access to spiritual awareness on our path. So, that helps!

Sun & Mercury are in the 8th sign from the South Node:

We are illuminating how we feel about all of the backlog of beliefs and concepts that we are so accustomed to assuming to be true, all internalized from the conditioning in our dominant culture. By eliminating and letting go of our old beliefs about how our world should be, we can illuminate and inhabit greater positive emotional spaces that we were previously unaware of. The 8th house is hidden things as it relates to our karmic release.

Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto are in the 8th sign from the North Node:

This is a time where we transform and undergo a spiritual crisis of the soul. We are meant to collectively move into our personal power as a means of accessing a brand new destiny, one that involves new ways of experiencing, communicating and sharing ideas with one another.

The main takeaway here is that we have to start building greater levels of self-sufficiency where we can. You are where you are and you can only do so much. I get that. But try taking incremental little steps towards greater autonomy and independence. Jupiter in starvation makes us feel like we can’t “trust” anything anymore, especially the secure structures (Saturn) in our lives.

Well, that’s part of the lesson here…

South node in Sagittarius is telling us to release the accumulated knowledge we have about society’s structure, security, concept of authority and material survival (working 9 to 5 for a living). We are gathering new ideas to replace our old useless ones.

When these outer planets (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter) move into Aquarius (AND THEY WILL), after these Capricorn transits are all over, we will need to jump on board the most futuristic and “next level” avenues in our economy: investing in Bitcoin, learning about blockchain and more. This will be how we adapt to the massive changes on the horizon.

But, until then, take a realistic look at your beliefs and what you swore up and down was (or is) true. It likely isn’t! There are new ways of thinking about your world (Gemini) and new experiences to be had once you release some of the collective implants and mind viruses that we have all, to one degree or another, been subjected to.
