New Moon in Scorpio: Deep Transformations & Fixed Emotional Commitment

Trevor Scott

In this constellation, the later-half of Scorpio, jealousy and deeply stuck emotions become illuminated by the Sun and made conscious or “felt” by the Moon, both in one’s self and in others. Life is a mirror. The fixed sign shows us that the entire month will involve doing things of true permanence for our future. Had you taken action on building towards the future during a mutable month cycle, it may have been a house of cards falling down at the slightest gust of wind. This month, however…things can stick.

Commit yourself to training (Mars) and getting a routine (Saturn) that you believe in (Jupiter) and that gives you hope for deeper meaning (Pluto). By letting go any unconscious needs to impulsively consume and indulge (Venus in 12th from Moon), you can develop into a greater version of yourself and experience a more ‘alive’ state of being.

All the Moving Parts:

This New Moon is stuck between Mercury at the lower degree and Pluto in Capricorn. This shows we must perform psychoanalysis upon ourselves, using penetrating, honest insight to what is dormant within.

The traditional fourth house of Scorpio is Aquarius, hemmed by universal planets of collective change: Neptune and Pluto. This is a time of emotional work and foundation-building. The original 7th lord from Scorpio is Venus (in the 12th house behind the New Moon). This is a time of dreaming and envisioning how you want relationships to be (got a wish list?). Of course, the original 10th house of Scorpio is Leo, ruled by the Sun in Scorpio. It’s a time of self-empowerment through unorthodox (Uranus aspect) ways. New Moon & Venus Hemming Mercury: New Mental Insights

Think of Mercury as being in the same house as the Sun & Moon, since it too is moving through the intense sign of Scorpio. Mercury is happy, sitting in between the Sun/Moon and his friend Venus (relaxing in her luxury home-sign: Libra). Opposite to Uranus, it gives profound sudden insights into answers we’ve been looking for (Rahu N. Node Gemini – Curious). We are using our intelligence to detect what might be missing in our lives, all of those hidden things ignored till now.

New Moon in 6th/8th Aspect from North Node/Rahu:

This shows an even greater need to use our communication skills to express our emotional needs with others and transmute our fixed emotional states. As it relates to our world (Sun/Moon), with what we desire (North Node) is in the 8th house of sudden change and transformation, whereas our environment/life is in the 6th (the emotional work) from what we desire.

Uranus is in the 7th from this New Moon Cycle: An Unorthodox Mirror

This shows that we must incorporate a relationship with the new, unexpected value system that will be popping up. Uranus helps to transcend the personal (Leo/”Me”) drama and incorporate an understanding of the higher energies in the collective consciousness. In Taurus, it pertains to our values, material needs and pleasurable indulgences — how do we emotionally meet these things with other people in mind?

Mars, the warrior, is strong in the 6th House/Sign: Cutting out the Clutter

This is a powerful time to transform one’s life by acting on our gut-feelings, judgements and instincts about how to improve the daily habits, health and functionality of our world. As the ruler of this Scorpio New Moon is Mars, along with Pluto, the energies of these planets can be powerfully felt. It’s time to get to the nitty-gritty work in life, on the emotional, spiritual and physical level.

Remember that transformation takes bravery and inner-strength. Mars in Aries gives us the courage to fight those external battles holding us down. But Scorpio is another story. It is the internal Jihad, the spiritual, emotional and psychic battles of the darkest depths. These require the unrelenting will of Pluto, as well as the traditional warrior-temperament of Mars.

You have them both right now.

The Ol’ Capricorn Conjunction: Third House PowerHouse

Jupiter, Pluto & Saturn are in the 3rd house from the New Moon. The third house always concerns how we apply our self-effort to get results. It is related to the first air sign, mutable, fickle, curious, engaged and experimental. In this case it falls in the ever-ambitious, pragmatic and depressively real earth sign Capricorn.

Jupiter is in sextile to the New Moon, providing us with the feeling that there is some opportunity or realistic hope within and despite our collective confinement (Saturn). Now is THE time to ACT on what you want and what you believe will transform your life for the better. The institutions are far too corrupt to save you. You must do the work. Develop connection and community with other people as much as you can. Use your inner-eye to visualize a better outcome and revile in the process. It will manifest eventually.

Neptune Trine New Moon from 5th Sign: Intelligent Integration of Spirit

This month is where we find the opportunity to engage in compassion with those we judge to be “other.” Scorpio can go to extremes, black and white, good and evil…Republican vs Democrat! Get out of that mode of thinking. Step into a more accepting one. Look into that deep, dark place behind the fray of societal chaos, you’ll find there is oneness — a raw truth. You will emerge into an expansive light, with a new outlook and more mature philosophy of this world (cue Sagittarius – the next stage in zodiacal evolution).

We’ll be covering the Sagittarius moon in next month’s post!
