November 4th brings a new moon in Scorpio in an exact opposition to Uranus, “the great awakener.” We may go deep within and find a shocking revelation about our values or what kind of experiences we wish to have in life. Scorpio rules that which is hidden or beneath the surface.
These “hidden” themes in our lives might arise suddenly and shockingly through a change in our values or how we earn a living (material reality of Uranus in Taurus retrograde). With Uranus hitting the moon, we don’t want to be told what to do or be restrained. We want absolute freedom to experience life as we see fit.
Scorpio is all about deep, intense transformative experience — changing from one state to another. It is the internal battle between the lower-self and the higher self. Thus it’s ruled by mars…energy and will, just more so on the emotional plane. We have the power to illuminate our internal state and emerge victorious, renewed and reborn from the ashes of the old.
Mars, being the dispositor for the new moon, is very powerful and seeking to add a sense of strength and courage to the sign.

Set an intention to bring about new intense experiences with other people. Stop trying to control life and let go, surrendering and trusting in larger universal forces to cover for you.
The number one chakra necessary for Scorpio energy to become balanced and pure is the Swadhisthana center (2nd chakra). Meditation upon this energy center during the new moon intention setting is vital.
What’s to Come
This is a time period of breaking free from convention and ridding one’s self of stagnant emotional energy. By no longer clinging to hurt feelings of the past, one is able to access the power of mars to overcome spiritual stagnation or fearful emotion states.
Pluto, the modern co-lord of Scorpio, is in the 3rd sign (Capricorn) and adds more urgency or intensity to this transit. The classical third house is one of personal effort and competition. We must engage with our internal demons (the negative mental states) to eliminate that which is evil (addictive or obsessive qualities, if any) and defend hat which is good (virtuous or Sattvic qualities).
Through the arduous “dark night of the soul” that Scorpio inherently represents, the small, vulnerable scorpion transforms himself into a powerful eagle. The eagle has a new vantage point to see how the nitty-gritty challenges of life interconnect with the larger workings of the cosmos, or the divine will.
The transformation into the eagle also represents the new-found wisdom, power and discernment that come with emotional maturity and the integration of the shadow.

Jupiter and Saturn are both in the fourth sign from the new moon, which shows us internal work that has to be done with regards to working through emotional beliefs that are difficult to overcome. Jupiter gives us hope but Saturn makes us work and brings us into a realization of our limitations, what we honestly can and can’t do.
Things could feel cold, detached and distant from within. It is important to directly engage such emotional states. Mars gives the internal power to do so.

Neptune in a trine to the new moon creates a gateway into the psychic astral plane. It opens the channels. Be careful where you put your vital energies.
This is NOT a good time to engage with spirits (ex: getting drunk), as it could lead to a loss of self or individuality, as well as the tendency for the consciousness to travel to the lower astral planes, often filled with disembodied persons and negative entities.
