Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius 2021

Trevor Scott

May 26th, 2021 — Eclipses are typically periods of psycho-spiritual crisis in some sphere of life. Sagittarius is about truth, inspired vision and grandiose story-telling. It’s the preacher, teacher and prophet — sometimes the overly-preachy philosopher. The only time eclipses are destructive is when we’ve become too set in our ways, have refused to adapt or change with the larger cosmic flow. Eclipses can be enormously productive periods. This is a critical total lunar eclipse. The lord of Sagittarius is at a critical degree in Pisces and in an angle from the Moon, showing a need to actively incorporate a sense of vision, faith or inspired trust with

1. Speak Out

Sun in Gemini illuminates the day-to-day information that floods our minds through media; but the Moon in an eclipse in Sagittarius makes us sensitive, intuitive and opened to larger philosophical concepts. We need to share who and what we are with other people. To speak and to express the truth and live honestly. We might be forced into a crisis in life that forces us to share truth with others.

2. Get to the Root – the Raw Truth

Mars is in the 8th sign from where the lunar eclipse occurs, which is a confluence for seeking truth or inspiration from intense, and often uncomfortable, emotional experiences. The earlier degrees of Sagittarius indicate a strong urge to unearth or uncover truth. This is because it has just emerged out of the crucible of Scorpio, intense transformation and the dark night of the soul. It’s a good time to explore what we really want to experience in life and to show discernment and discretion with what information (mental narratives) we allow into our lives.

3. Expand Your Horizons

Although Scorpio is typically associated with cutting through the crap and getting at the raw naked truth, Sagittarius is about using our knowledge of the truth and expressing it to the world, hence why the original 9th house is associated with publishing, long distance tours and academia. We need to expand on what brings us optimism and joy (Jupiter rules abundance and grace). Engage in humor, laughter, travel and new life experiences.

4. Trust

Sagittarius is all about the bigger picture and broad philosophical concepts. We need to find out what needs to change in our personal lives that will allow for a greater ability to let go. Mutable signs are about fixing and editing things, not starting, like cardinal signs, and not finishing, like fixed signs. There is a strong need with this eclipse to release control and allow for some higher force to guide your life correctly, not needing to account for every little things (as Mercury loves to do). Jupiter wants to believe and “know” with conviction.

Lunar Eclipse for Each Ascendant

Aries Asc. – Moon

This eclipse occurs in your 9th and 3rd house axis, the original point of information from the higher and lower forms, academia versus trivia. You’ll really want to reengage your Dharmic spiritual path and find new bold ways to assert yourself and your skills in the world. New duties surrounding your vehicles and tools will come up; the desire to travel to distant places to find emotional peace will be strong.

Taurus Asc. – Moon

Your health could take a turn for the better, or for the worse, depending on what you’ve been doing with your time. There could be an awakening with regards to what you want to do with your daily routine, your work life or your debts. You may want to break free to find more meaning.

Gemini Asc. – Moon

This eclipse is going to wake your relationships up. Are you getting what you want out of it, or should you uproot and move on? This could add a deeper layer of experience to an exiting relationship.

Cancer Asc. – Moon

You’ve been hot under the collar of late, with added stress and activity in life. But, this eclipse manifests itself in your house of self worth and other people’s worth, your family and your in-laws. You could find new opportunities to earn an income through communications and tech, perhaps out of necessity or extreme predicament. You’ll have to learn to trust and embrace what you cannot control with an 8th house eclipse.

Leo Asc. – Moon

Ah! This one feels good. The eclipse is happening in your 5th and 11th house axis, your creative projects, children and your friendships or social networks will be feeling. You could find yourself wanting to express your individuality more or assume new responsibilities in your social circle or network.

Virgo Asc. – Moon

You might find more status at your job, more responsibility and duty in your career. At home, however, things could get shaken up. You may want to expand your home base, explore new ways of getting to the root of your emotional heaviness, if applicable. Or, you might want to go back to your roots, and rekindle relationships with family members, particularly the mother.

Libra Asc. – Moon

This eclipse is in your 9th and 3rd house, the original axis of information, only inverted. You’ll want to learn new skills and might have to be careful of engaging with false people in your immediate environment. Certainly, be careful when driving and pay attention; don’t zone out in a fog of Neptune. You’re ready to move beyond your current state of being, and expand your experiences past what you”re used to. It might mean a massive spontaneous trip to a distant location.

Scorpio Asc. – Moon

This eclipse occurs in your 2nd and 8th axis, self worth and the worth of others. You’re normally curious and mentally prying into the depths of life. But with this eclipse, you’ll really expand on your need to uncover what is hidden and beneath the surface, both externally and internally. You could have a wakeup call with your finances and personal security that pushes you towards cultivating more trust in your own ability to earn a living and life’s ability to take care of you.

Sagittarius Asc. – Moon

You may find new responsibilities in your relationships that expand quickly and out of nowhere. This eclipse is right on your ascendant or your personal sense of self. You might reinvent your identity or get a revelatory shock about your life trajectory, your path and what direction it is headed in. It’s all about coming to terms with yourself and what your needs are, then understanding how relationships fit into that frame.

Capricorn Asc. – Moon

You’ll find more responsibilities in your daily work schedule. new information will creep up in your day-to-day routines and occurrences, but this will emotionally activate your subconscious mind and can bring you positive shifts in your psychology. You might watch out for wasting your energy in unproductive pursuits. Face your daily responsibilities, which will definitely come, and then retreat into your private spiritual sanctuary to uncover new emotional input. You’ll need to lose part of your identity, in order to gain a newer and stronger one.

Aquarius Asc. – Moon

This eclipse occurs in your 11th and 5th houses. The Sun and Rahu in your 5th house could mean a surge in creative energy to share new information with others and engage in romantic outings. On the other hand, it means more responsibility to your children or creative endeavors. You’ll really have a wake up call with your social circle. Out with the old and in with the new. It could also mean uncovering new ways to connect with others and gain a larger income that supports your lifestyle choices or values.

Pisces Asc. – Moon

Your home life and career will see a major shift. You might assume new responsibilities at home for someone younger, or you could find yourself longing for a new and more meaningful career, where you can expand your sense of identity and express yourself more. The lord of this eclipse is also in Pisces, making heavy karmic planets situated in your angels; this isn’t a passive time, it’s a time for action and recalibration.

Mutable signs are about adapting and shifting to our environment. Six Planets are in Mutable signs during this eclipse.

Neptune Square Venus/Mercury

Neptune is in a mutable square with Venus and Mercury, two friends together in a masculine air sign. The day to day, mundane parts of life can get pretty weird and downright confusing. It’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s unreal when this aspect becomes tight. There’s a lot of pining and longing for something better with this aspect. It’s also a time period when people escape their lives with fantasies. Venus and Mercury is also a good time. It’s about enjoying the little things in life in an easy breezy way.

Jupiter Square Sun/Moon

Jupiter is our faith and it’s where we put our trust, collectively speaking. The sun is about confidence, status, power and illumination. These planets are friends, despite squaring one another. Jupiter has greater strength to guide the decisions of the king in a way that supports the kingdom. It’s important to not think we know it all or have the truth, because new information will soon be uncovered. Jupiter is in the 10th house from the Sun and in the 4th house from the eclipsed Moon, showing us the work we must initiate to build our sense of faith and self confidence in where we are headed in life. Trusting ourselves is at the emotional root of this eclipse in Sag. There is a tension to be resolved between where we put our trust (belief systems we hold), self-esteem (the ability to make in on our own) and emotional needs.

Saturn (R) Sextile Moon and South Node

Saturn makes a positive growth-oriented aspect to the eclipsed moon and spiritual Ketu/South Node. Due to its retrograde status, one should find new ways of attaining structure in life. The foremost way is through finding a new social support network, or group to be a part of, one that shares similar values. Find positive environments to help nourish your spiritual self, and avoid those which could damper it, environments of pure negativity or depression.
