July’s Lunar Eclipse & Your Inner Autocrat

Trevor Scott

On July 4th-5th 2020, Saturday (Saturn’s day) and Sunday, the lunar eclipse begins in the sign of Capricorn at 13 degrees, reminding us of where we emotionally stand with the massive structural changes to our security and material prosperity. It all starts to feel REAL. The work, the faith and the transformation that has to happen in all of us is more pressing than ever. We need to listen and be open to hearing the universal guidance that is lingering behind the chaos.

The Moon is how we really feel and our psychological makeup. When an eclipse hits it, it can wipe us out or drain us emotionally. But it also provides the chance to make great leaps forward in the journey towards self-actualization. Just be ready to fight some painful battles to get you to the next phase of the journey and to protect your private space. Capricorn is all about the “powers that be.” We certainly feel the restriction and confinement that they are exercising, encroaching upon individual liberties little by little, day by day. Karma is being relinquished.

A lunar eclipse within a stellium in a cardinal or moveable sign creates the need to ACT on our fears to help secure our place in the world. The idea or information that sets us free could come suddenly and through an unorthodox manner: Uranus trines Moon.

Capricorn: Where We Build Our Future

The moon being eclipsed here makes us feel that if we don’t start chipping away at it and get to pushing the proverbial boulder up the mountain, we won’t wind up in a stable place down the line.

Capricorn Stellium Evolutionary Order:

Moon – Jupiter – Pluto – Saturn (R)

Emotion – Understanding – Transformation – Restriction

We will face the shadow self and the patriarchal archetype within the deepest realms of the subconscious. Pluto is all about your soul. It doesn’t care for the ego. When it’s with the moon, it can lead to a time of emotional crisis and reflection where we need to be still and seek something from within. The outward push for success or accomplishment winds down a bit here. We must face what emotions arise now. They will be coming from the underworld and the heavens.

This could be a rewarding time, if you’ve been paying your dues, getting organized and being totally down to earth with your life. No airy-fairy idealism or dreams that it will all just work out in life. These transits are about doing what NEEDS to be done, not what we want. So, if you’re thinking about it, maybe hold off on that PhD in east asian studies, as fun as it may be, in favor of just paying the bills with a computer programming job, or getting a foundational structure set in stone for a better and more practical tomorrow.

After all, Aquarius will be coming up soon in our transits. It’s all about working together on a global level (very much against racism and discrimination) in order to make a more equitable society. Socialism will become a part of life.
