Slow and steady wins the race. The Sun in Taurus illuminates our values, material or financial conditions and the things that bring us personal pleasure. We get to see clearly what matters this month and the work required to support our values and tastes in the pressures of modern society. This is a great time to start getting the most out of life and experiencing enjoyment in the little things. Savor and enjoy the material aspect of life. Saturn in Aquarius squaring the sign of Taurus puts limitations on what you can enjoy. But you just have to operate within the boundaries of Saturn, then the boarders expand.
Art matters. Beauty matters. Love matters. Finding comfort in the material forms through pleasing scenery, nice clothing or delicious food is an important piece of the human experience.
Sun, Mercury, Venus & Uranus Conjunct – The Taurus Stellium
There is a strong conversion to be had with yourself when it comes to values. What do you really want? If you want to change the system or fight for some utopian future, it might be best to reconsider. Go travel, have drinks, try to have good friendships, work on a skill (Mercury) of passion (Venus) or find a new way to Try something new, exciting and different. Learn new things that will help you support yourself: gardening or agricultural skills, self-defense skills or something along these lines.
Mercury, which rules over mercantilism, management and communication, sits with a good friend, Venus. She is in her home sign, comfortable and able to enjoy life. Uranus is about revolutionizing something, doing it outside of the boundaries (Saturnian) of the system. Sun, obviously, is about authority, illumination and inspiration. If you feel inspired to buy something new, a nice watch or an article of clothing, do it. I’m not very materialistic, but I’ve been buying a few things here and there (and doing road trips). Spiritual people can often view materials and money as dirty. But it is merely a part of God’s creative manifestation. There are times for restraint and times for indulgence. Now is the latter.
No matter how difficult finances might be, find little things to enjoy and take pleasure in. Taurus is all about one’s sensual appetites and enjoying what we have around us. As a personal anecdote (being a Greek citizen) in Greece, virtually everybody is poor. Because there are no economic opportunities and corruption is pretty rampant, people relax. There’s nothing to be done. So, they drink wine, walk in nature, dance to music on the radio, garden, cook and have excessively loud conversions political debates with one another. Life can still be fulfilling. Sun in Taurus is about finding fulfillment or inspiration through the material-side of life. But when it’s with Uranus, it’s about doing it in a revolutionary way with others.
Don’t Get Sucked into the Mob Mentality. Do the Brave Thing. Be an Individual.
People are akin to cattle or sheep. They do not value freedom. They value safety at all costs. The safest place in the world, I’m sure, is a padded cage. But it isn’t a life worth living if all you do is play it safe. Don’t plod along with the heard of cattle. They are headed into a metaphorical slaughterhouse. They are being corralled (Saturn in the scientific sign of Aquarius Square Taurus Stellium) into a box for the sake of safety and public good (Aquarius bears water for all of humanity).
The dumbed-down masses are being taken advantage of by pretty sinister (deeply unconscious) institutions. The masses are kept ignorant by mainstream news networks that are owned and operated by billion-dollar corporations. You never hear any criticism against the current state of international capitalism on CNN, Fox, ABC, NBC or any other channel. Why? It’s because the corporations have a good thing going on and don’t plan to stop anytime soon. The boys on Wall Street are having the time of their lives at the expense of Main Street.
Corporations rule the world, but they do so clandestinely, maintaining the thin veneer of a democratic republic and a free or fair society. They’ve managed to bribe (buy off) the US government and court system. They continue to rule unchallenged. The right-wing and left-wing divide is an illusion to keep people distracted by theatrics. Meanwhile, the billionaires laugh on their private islands watching the show, not a care in the world. They should care, though — were they were not blinded by materialism and greed (Taurus in negative polarity).
Saturn rules time, anxiety, fear and the masses. Time is the one things that seems to be running thin. The Earth is being depleted of natural resources by unbridled and unregulated global capitalism. America is an oligarchy ruled by the rich and marketed to desperate Third-World citizens as a “promised land.” The American Dream died long ago. The middle class is disappearing quickly and the poor are growing in number; the rich are garnering more and more money — business as usual. But it’s all quite unsustainable.
What am I really getting at here with this lengthy and seemingly unrelated tangent?
Enjoy your life now — right now.
Personal freedom, human dignity, beauty and autonomy are disappearing quickly. As technology progresses, there must be less freedom for the system to function properly. Knowing that things might not get better in the future — in fact, a dystopian world seems to linger on humanity’s horizon — you must act to make things better today. Get as much off of your bucket list as you can. I know I am. Taurus is about self-sufficiency, sustenance and material pleasure. Find a way to do all three. Find comfort and enjoyment in little things, if you find yourself with little. at the moment
While Venus is in strength, ruling the Sun (the entire kingdom of the coming month), as well as Uranus (collectives) and Mercury (management and communication), it is a good time to communicate your individual needs and wants to others clearly and openly. Make it known what you want and what you won’t settle for. Venus being powerful means that we should put ourselves in the most comfortable place possible, unify and join with something that bears personal meaning. Venus makes connections, which is the opposite nature of Mars: to cut and separate.
