This solar eclipse occurs in Cancer, the sign of nourishment, home, family and emotional contentment. Historically, when eclipses such as this occur, there can be issues with food, home and nourishment arising within the collective. It can cause famines — but not always! If energy is channeled properly, there can be wonderful new comforts to be enjoyed.
Perhaps we need to reform new roots, discover a new foundation or home right now.
Retrograde planets mean they are closer to the Earth, more in-tune with the “fallen” human experience. The Gods and Goddesses descend to be among mankind, offering more support or connection to humanity. Venus and Mercury are planets that govern our daily mundane lives, ruling such things as: grocery stores, automobiles, computers and nearly anything having to do with material possessions. These two retrograde planets hem the eclipse, gating in its energies. This entire eclipse will be about a crisis in the psychology of human need.
Mercury retrograde in the same sign as the eclipse:
We will be forced to really reflect on and think about how we communicate and interact with those closest to us. We think on how to receive proper nourishment. Mercury leads the way here, out in front of the eclipse. Our minds are reflecting and exploring where the pain is (Chiron) and organizing where our emotional energy goes.
Venus retrograde in the 12th sign from the eclipse:
This is a receptive period when we enjoy the pleasures behind the great but uncomfortable changes. Taking time out and away from other people is the key right now. We will be drawn into situations that will lead us to unconscious displays of negative behaviors and defensive outbursts.
Pluto and Jupiter in the 7th from the eclipse. This shows that faith and optimism are far away and fallen. Jupiter presides over this eclipse. Our ability to expand our emotional receptivity to new ways of being will involve a lot of intense transformation (Pluto) and hard work (Saturn).
Saturn is in-conjunct to the Moon, Sun and North Node. There will be permanent endings to the things that we’ve held close to us. Attachment must be broken so that the new can be let in.
Neptune and Mars are in the 9th sign from the solar eclipse:
We are opening up to new ways of channeling our personal willpower and syncing our energy to a more refined spiritual energy, all while adjusting how we meet our needs. We might need to move homes, find a new diet or get a new conveyance of some sort, like a reliable vehicle.
This eclipse marks the turning point for new moon cycles that will occur above the north nodal point, rather than above the south nodal point. We are moving towards completely new ways of being in the collective. This cycle within a cycle starts in Cancer, which has to do with the heart and the emotional space. The crisis to examine one’s emotional attachments and will pave the way towards how we develop our selves throughout the next several months, into the next year.
The great changes that are on the horizon are forcing humanity to adopt stillness and a new state of consciousness. A cursory glance at the news will tell you that chaotic and insane nature of the collective “pain body” or “human ego,” as Eckhart Tolle would put it, is rising to the surface in a last-ditch effort to remain alive before the new form of consciousness takes over. One man who spent most of his life struggling to finally achieve his dream of owning his own business, in this case a sports bar, witnessed it be burnt to the ground in front of him.
All of those years of sacrifice, struggle and stress were all for nothing. A bunch of angry rioters burned his business to the ground and he will never get it back. This is an individual example of a strong Pluto transit that comes to destroy a person’s world, for the soul purpose of spiritual growth to occur. This man’s experience reflects what is being collectively expressed within the larger sphere of human consciousness: destruction, attachment, loss and futility. The darker side of human emotion is being triggered. The emotional attachments we hold will be broken by an outside force until we awaken from spiritual sleep.
We must collectively “let go” and stop trying to control for everything. By relinquishing control, we obtain it. An eclipse occurring within the feminine water sign of Cancer will show an energetic cycle that is about letting go and releasing our grip to dominate, plan and execute big goals through the ego. This is a time of receptivity to the divine and stillness. Listen to your dreams and intuition more. Do not listen to worldly authority. Remember that Jupiter is debilitated. It’s hard to know how all of this is fitting together and how to derive meaning out of life’s unpredictable circumstances. But behind the veil of delusion, there is an overflow of meaning and purpose there to guide on towards a more emotionally-fulfilling life experience.
