Secrets of the 4th House in Astrology

Trevor Scott

The 4th House is the key, the true doorway to manifestation of the original house. What does the original 4th House indicate? It’s none other than our foundation, our starting point in life.

Houses in astrology are areas of life. If this particular house is damaged in a horoscope, it’s difficult to feel truly grounded, comfortable, or “at home” in one’s own skin. Although rare, it can sometimes result in homelessness or, more commonly, vagabond syndrome — moving from one spot to another again and again.

It’s such an important house in astrology.

But not many people know the secrets of the 4th House in astrology. This actually shows us the origin point for every other house and sign in the zodiac belt. It’s where things begin; it’s the key to unlocking it all.

Core Significations of the 4th House: Mother or primary caretaker, homeland, living situation, family life, emotions, vehicles/assets, and internal emotional security (general contentment).

The Ascendant (1st House) represents the physical body. It is “us” coming into literal being in this universe. Four places away shows us where we originally came from, the root, or foundation of our being.

So. Where do we come from? Guess.

Sperm and egg. Well…yeah, but moreover, we all came from a mother — a womb. The 4th House is the mother. A woman’s yoni is the doorway for souls to enter this realm.

Well… Until science starts to create incubator babies in a laboratory somewhere, this is pretty much the only way to get here.

4th From the 2nd House

The 5th House is our children, the various things we’re passionate about, learned scriptural knowledge, intelligence, and creativity. These are all the root causes of our material security, personal values, money, and finances.

How often is the birth of a child related to the beginning of greater material security or earning power?

4th From the 3rd House

The 6th House represents our enemies, health, diseases, obstacles, debts, and daily routines (our day job). Here lies the origin point of our willpower and personal effort. We have to develop skills, talents, abilities, and mental ingenuity in response to life’s challenges. Those hardships and challenges are at the root of our will.

Ever meet people who’ve lived easy, comfortable lives without many obstacles to overcome? They’re usually not able to tap into their 3rd House of willpower and fight for what they deserve in life.

4th From the 4th House

The 7th House is the place of relationships, marriage, and partnerships. Family starts by unifying with a partner (another person to create it).

What was the origin of relationships (mainly marriage) for most of human history? It was arranged marriages carried out by the family. Why do men buy homes and nice cars to get the opposite sex? The 4th House represents vehicles, assets, and our home.

4th From the 5th House

The 8th House is a place of psychology, intimacy, occult matters, sudden changes, crises moments in life, and other people’s resources. It also represents the assets of the spouse and his/her family. This is the origin of all 5th House matters.

Where do children come from? Don’t know. It’s a mystery — a well hidden, occult subject one could say. Kidding aside, they come from sexual intercourse with another person; that falls under the domain of the 8th House.

It’s our joint finances (you and a partner, or the in-laws) also provide the foundation or security (4th House) for children (5th house).

4th From the 6th House

The 9th House represents higher learning, long-distance trips, overseas travel, publishing, teachers/gurus, and beliefs or philosophies. All of these are the root of our obstacles and poor conditions in life originate from our beliefs. As you believe, so it is.

Where does most debt come from (medical bills aside)?

College or that trip you took to visit Italy last summer!

4th From the 7th House

The 10th House is a place of fame, reputation, status, and authority in the world. This all originates from our relationships with other people.

Why do some people rapidly progress in their career after getting married? It’s because they’ve activated the MC in their chart through the 7th House.

4th From the 8th House

The 11th House represents our hopes, wishes, dreams, goals, aspirations, social circle, and friends. These significations are made manifest from our internal psychological state, our joint resources (dealing with other people’s money in some way), and sexuality.

4th From the 9th House

The 12th House represents unconscious states, sleep, bedroom pleasure, and where we go after death (supposedly). This is the origin for many of our belief systems. They stem from the unconscious.

Here’s a tip. Always read spiritual or culturally-rich books before bed. This will impact your sleep immensely.

4th From the 10th House

The Ascendant or 1st House is our physical body, the earthly vessel. This is where all experience comes from. It’s how we look and appear to others. Our physical body is the origin for our reputation and image within this world. Without a physical vessel, there is no impact in the world.

Where does our reputation in the world come from? It’s us. It’s what we do, how we act, and how we look that impacts our fame (or level of authority) in the world.

4th From the 11th House

The 2nd House is the place of material security, finances, early home life, and speech patterns. The experiences that colored our early childhood, the things we regularly eat, as well as how we speak to others, and the material security we have are all key elements in manifesting our social circle, social network, and friendships.

The more money you have, the wider your social network will be (usually). Your 2nd House is the root of the 11th.

4th From the 12th House

The 3rd House is a place of hobbies, siblings, peers, teams, willpower, personal effort, and mental activity. The types of thoughts we think, the activities we engage in, and the short-distance trips we take directly impact our ability to sleep and even enjoy bedroom activities. The actions we take in our immediate environment (how we use our will) determines the state we’ll be in after death (the afterlife or unconscious state).

By learning new skills and engaging in new activities, your sleep cycle or subconscious state of mind will improve.

How does this 4th House Secret Work?

When it comes to 4th House and/or 4th Sign, there’s a bit of a chain reaction. Each house that is four places away from the original one is the creator.

That’s actually why signs that are four places from one another are in the same mode (meaning: fixed, mutable, and cardinal). The same type of energy initiates the coming sign.

Example:

Libra is cardinal. It initiates through the air element (socializing and communicating). The Libra is the one breaking the ice and walking over to strike up a conversation with that other person at the party. Libra’s activity serves to create the sign of Cancer, since it is four places from Cancer. Cancer/4th House then creates the sign of Aries/1st House (our identity). Our identity is what then shapes our duty or karma in the world (Capricorn/10th House). So on and so forth!

It’s an eternal loop.
